Description

Hi all again!
This is my final image for a matte paint challenge.
I spent about 12/15hrs for this image.
For the 3D start rendering I used 3D Max7,and Photopaint for the 2D work.
I used various photo references for mountains, ice and other details,and pieces of photo as texture on the different surfaces.
I paint over the sky (a photo) to give more sense of drama The full size resolution is 2911x1693x300dpi's

Lovely work Dan, the sense of the dramatic is very present, Well done.

There seems to be something od going on with the wall of the building right at the front at the bottom, I can't tell what it's supposed to be doing, it looks like a mask has slipped.

check top right of drawing, clouds part, some colour masks must have slipped

some discrepancies in lighting, the most left iceberg gets a lot of light which suggests the building should be more lit also than it is now as it is almost at the same angle as the building. Would also except some highlight eg from windows reflecting light dead-on

About my Ice Islands, it's a little bit pictorical for a matte paint, it should be more photorealistic. But I like as illustration!

Very nice picture, the details give a good impression of scale. I think perhaps the ice could have been tinted a little more brown to better match the rest. Good job +8/10
